Not lost
Not all those who wander are lost, right Jenny?
Every now and then I entertain some little fantasies. The big three lately have been:
- 46 million dollars
- Moving to Hawaii
- Second kid
In the money one, I was in the tub one day, and it’s a testament to my Germanic heritage that I first thought how I could go about endowing my current position at work so that it could be full-time someday. Um, 46 million dollars? You want to pay yourself to work? Also, needle scratching across record moment: we have no rich relations, and you have to play the lottery to win the lottery.
Moving to Hawaii… sounds great from the temperate 90% of the year, flip flops every day, puu puu platter angle, but the everything must be shipped there and everyone you know is a billion miles away side of that coin, plus JELLYFISH, bring an end to that line of thought.
Second kid. Easy to consider while the first one is having a great run of good health, there’s tons of fun stuff to do, we’re mostly getting along, and there is almost reliable, decent sleep every night. But, would the second one need eye surgery as a baby too? (Crossed eyes are in the genes.) And two sick kids, and two to feed/clothe/educate/shuttle around/etc. And, house with only two bedrooms. It makes the mind tired.

Anyway we’ve been married five years as of Friday. Five is my lucky number!
