Tivoli T is done.

What a totally swell pattern! Easy as pie, yet very stylish. I love it. Click it for the gallery.
I decided to make another one right away, this time in some Rowan All Seasons Cotton in a discontinued barfy orange color. I have put my pinwheel blanket in the timeout box, because I am very indecisive about how to finish it. I think I need to add another level of hell to the list.
Happy weekend…see you Monday!

Here’s a closeup of Tivoli, after the first bit of crocheted edging in green Dale Kolibri. I forgot how long it takes to crochet so I still need another night to work the pink part, which I think might involve a really simple trefoil or shamrock sort of shape…but I have to experiment still.
Added later: Very nice link for info on eating local and organic, Local Harvest. AND THEY HAVE YARN in their shop!!
Pictures of me trying on my Tivoli T are below.

Hey! My Tivoli T is almost done!

I finished the final increase round this morning, which just means knitting straight until it’s the length I want.

I really like how the pattern has full-fashioned shaping. I think it will be a really nice fit. And I’m still thinking of crocheting edges on this, in the Kolibri colors shown here. I often assess my closet and think I have way too many solid-colored clothes, and while I’d probably wear Tivoli in a solid color, it will be more fun with some extra detail!
Maybe this winter I should start a Fair Isle, perhaps one of those great ones in Loop-d-Loop. Better start saving my pennies.
On Eating, Lately
For those that have been checking in here somewhat regularly, you remember that a few weeks ago I gave up sugar for seven whole days. It was not as hard as I’d thought, and after the seven days were up it was pretty easy to keep the sweetened-food intake to a minimum. How has it been going since then?

This post is about t-shirts, plus some more pics of where I work for my library/archives readers!
Yesterday I received a custom screen-printed t-shirt from my friend Chad, who thinks of my birthday more as a state of mind than an actual day on the calendar. I tried to take a picture of me in the shirt with the Chicago skyline in the background but it was a bust. And I can’t find a link to the online shop either. So you will have to imagine a white and black baseball raglan, with a robot and the words “Hydraulic Electronic Individual Designed for Infiltration” on the front. Get it?
And after seeing a very pretty one in progress at my Stitch-n-Bitch the other night, I decided to start my own Tivoli T. I am using Omega Sinfonia cotton in color Verde Niebla (green fog) for the 31″ size, and I plan to dress it up with some green and pink Dale Kolibri when it’s done. Oh my, crochet??

I brought this project in for a tour of my workplace today. Want to see?

I am feeling puny so I stayed home today. Here’s what I have so far on the pinwheel:

I’m still between steps 6 and 7 (see Monday’s post). But after perusing Larissa’s pinwheel gallery I decided to add a row of yarn-overs. After the 42nd round of increases (so I guess that would be about row 84? though it seems like much more) I worked one whole round in purl, then a round of yo, K2tog, then another round of purl. Then I switched back to stockinette and am working increases in the same places they were before to continue the spiral pattern. It helped before doing the first purl row to place a marker after each increase.
I am nearly finished with ball #3 of my Rowan Calmer in Slosh. I think I will use up a fourth, before working the edging and finishing this project. I haven’t decided exactly what kind of edging I’m going to do, but I have two different colors on the way: Peacock and Sour which I think will be a bit more green than the one in the picture.
Does air conditioning or ceiling-fan use make you sick? This happens every year–once the dust and particulate gunge starts to circulate, I get the sniffles. Even with regular filter cleanings it still gets me. I can’t sleep with a fan blowing on me, but like almost everywhere else in the US this year, it’s really hot…
So now that I’m home, I am going to eat lots of cherries, take a long nap, and maybe do some sewing!
