Here it is, in its completely finished state:

You can see this picture even larger if you click it to go to the gallery. The armholes, I decided last night, look best in a stockinette that is meant to curl.
This project isn’t 100% perfect, but it’s wearable. If I make any changes, they will be:
1. Take off the collar, undo the shoulders, and knit the front and back pieces longer at the shoulders to make the armholes deeper.
2. Maybe just maybe give it a big slouchy turtleneck after all.
I’m wearing this today, and then I’ll decide how I really feel about these mods…

Or at least maybe some armhole finishing. Everything else is now done on the sleeveless top I’ve decided to name Red Rib.

A big merci to Sandra of Rouge Cerise, in Belgium, for sending me two skeins of Noro Silk Garden in color 84, dye lot C2. Mine was dye lot C, but I think it made no difference at all. Take a peek at the box Sandra sent:

Sandra, I hope the box I sent you reaches you very soon, and an extra thank you for the cat shaped chocolates and the wonderful Opal sock yarn! I’ll swap with you anytime.
Some more detail on the Red Rib: the whole neckline and a closeup of the button closure. I wanted something a little different. For a while I was planning to give it a giant turtleneck, or maybe a big collar that split on the side, but Rodney vetoed both of those. So I decided to make it a small mock-collar and put on a button.
The vintage button I first chose is handpainted glass and completely perfect for this top, but unfortunately I broke the back of it (!) when I was sewing it on. Now I’ll have to hot-glue it to something, because it’s too good to waste.
The title of this post is from last night’s Gilmore Girls. It was my favorite line of the show, but since some of you don’t get to see it until Friday I won’t give away much else. I’m nice like that. But anybody who wants to discuss the quality of it, leave a comment! The plot definitely moved forward this week. In a good way? I don’t know.

Dear readers, I’m organizing a Knitalong for Bonne Marie’s fabulous Scoop du Jour cardigan. Stay tuned for cute graphics…
Here is the page of info for now: Scoop du Jour Knitalong
And here is the beginning of my own Scoop du Jour.

I’m making it with Manos del Uruguay in #114, which was de-stashed to me from Carolyn.

Felted throw pillows! Click it to go to the gallery for a little more detail.
I see many more of these in my future. It only took one evening, while Rodney was off at an amateur boxing event, to make both of these (not including the felting of course).

More amateur sports for us today: a hockey tournament out in Glen Ellyn. Rodney’s friend Brian is the goalie for his team “The Grizzlies.” Seems an appropriate thing to do on an unfairly cold spring day. And there may or may not be a side trip to a craft store while we’re out there!
Happy weekend…
