It appears I have pinched a nerve in my back. This shooting pain prevents me from slouching in my chair, which is oddly okay. We’ll find out tonight how that affects my various crafting postures.
This weekend we went to see Laurel Canyon and as I often do when wearing my Dansko “chef clogs” I twisted an ankle on the rutty urban sidewalk. Maybe that’s what caused the ouch.
So I’m getting a cab home today. This helps, because I can bring home something cool I have salvaged from the office. Pictures later…

So the dinner after Parvati’s funeral is Cranberry Pistachio Chicken with Success Rice (except without the Success Rice).
We got this recipe out of some magazine, and it is one of the most easy and elegant things we’ve made in ages. Plus it tastes wonderful!
Cranberry Pistachio Chicken
Makes 4 Servings
2 cups rice (Basmati is nice)
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup finely chopped shallots
1 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup finely chopped pistachios
2 cups cooked chicken cut into small cubes
Cook rice according to package directions.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add shallots and saute for about 2 minutes or until shallots start to turn golden. Remove from heat and add wine and cranberries. Return to heat and cook for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and add cream, chicken, and pistachios. Simmer 10 minutes more, or until sauce coats the back of a wooden spoon. Divide rice between 4 serving plates, and top with chicken mixture.

So much for my night of fun, getting to know all the intricacies of my tiny Iris M.
When I got home from work I found Parvati Chatterjee, the otherwise most healthiest of our fish, dead on the floor.
How she got out of the tank to kill herself is beyond me as we have a well fitting lid, and a wide array of tubes and filters covering up what open space there is in back.
I am certain that she volunteered to represent the rest of the tank members and her benevolent leader Mubaka the plastic Tiki god to commit a grave and poignant anti-war act.
Witness:

The home tank which she so bravely represented. And her dry, limp body…
Let it be known, all you reckless and selfish world leaders, that your choices can only lead to despair among the masses. Stop it NOW!!
P. C., we’re gonna miss you.

Yeah, she’s here.
The manual is immense.
I haven’t figured out if the battery is charged.
Pictures coming very very soon!
